The Employees’ Provident Fund Organization, which manages the provident & pension fund savings for salaried individuals registered under the the EPF & MP Act, 1952, announced in early December that 31st December 2021 would be the last date for filing of e-nomination and linking Aadhaar number with UAN for its subscribers. The EPFO online portal for its subscribers has been down or giving headaches to users due to frequent crashed and bugs. As per the EPFO, the name that is already mentioned in the PF nomination will be considered the final nomination and all earlier nominations will be rejected after a fresh nomination has been registered.
Many users took to Twitter to address the problem they are facing with the EPF members portal. Many users demanded an extension of the deadline to file e-nomination and linking of Aadhaar number to UAN because of the issues they are facing. The issues faced by EPFO subscribers seems to be an issue on the server end of the EPFO and the EPFO has not yet made a statement acknowledging any issues or addressing the problems being faced by its subscribers. There has also not been any announcement yet regarding the extension of the deadline with only a couple of days remaining.
