Andhra Pradesh Land Survey Tech Impresses Maharashtra Govt., Says Worth Copying
The Maharashtra government has been impressed with the way re-survey process of land in being done in Andhra Pradesh, utilising modern tools & latest technology. The Maharashtra government believes that the new method used by the AP govt. to survey lands could possibly resolve the issues state governments are facing since decades due to survey errors. The Maharashtra government has sent in a team of 11 senior personnel including the commissioner of the Maharashtra Survey Settlement Niranjan Kumar Sudanshu – who are touring the state of Andhra Pradesh over the last couple of days to study the land survey project being executed in AP.
The AP government’s comprehensive land survey project under the ‘YSR Jagananna Bhu Hakku Mariyu Bhu Raksha Patham’ aims to resolve all problems being faced due to survey issues. These issues have been a problem for a long period of time with some not being resolved for decades even. The new survey techniques used will be helpful in resolving land-record related problems, this project is also the first of its kind which will guarantee permanent land rights and land protection to benefit land owners & farmers. The new survey techniques being used in Andhra Pradesh could help correct land records once and for all, all states in India could also implement these survey methods and technology too.
Siddharth Jain, Commissioner of AP Survey Settlement & Land Records met with the delegation from Maharashtra and briefed the visiting officials during their trip to Jaggayyapeta in Krishna District earlier this week. Mr. Jain also showed and elaborated on the various aspects of the ongoing survey work during their visit to Jaggayyapeta. Niranjan Kumar Sudanshu, Commissioner of Maharashtra Survey Settlement was mighty impressed and expressed his satisfaction by saying that it is not an easy feat to accomplish, especially by deploying survey department employees at the village level and also come up with a policy to finish the registration process on-site itself.
The visiting senior officials of Maharashtra Survey Settlement were impressed to see that latest technology, which is usually used for international surveying was being used without any hiccups. According to Siddharth Jain, the survey project has already completed surveying of 51 villages in the state on a pilot basis. The Maharashtra government will be keen to utilise the same technology and methods in their own state to resolve land-record and survey related issues causing registration and other problems.
