Governor of Telangana Asks Real-Estate Developers for Affordable Housing Models & Solutions

The first ever conclave of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI)’s Telangana State Conclave was inaugurated on 23rd December 2021. Addressing the gathering post-inauguration, the Governor of Telangana Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan prompted the real-estate developers, contractors, builders & engineers to formulate affordable housing models and solutions which can aid the government in fulfilling dreams of the economically weaker sections of the society of owning their own house someday and living under a roof they own.

Citing the prevalent pandemic situation and condition of the world, the priorities and necessities have changed quite significantly compared to pre-Covid-19 period, the Governor suggested builders, developers & government authorities promote ecologically sustainable construction methods and adoption of green housing concepts to reduce energy consumption. Utilisation of available resources in a sustainable manner could also help reduce the impact of energy consumption on nature. Eco-friendly housing construction methods can create houses that maintain ambient temperature within the house and keep energy consumption in form of electricity via fans, air-conditioners, heaters etc. to a minimum. These methods are already being implemented by the AP Govt. in their affordable housing schemes.

The Governor stated – “The houses must be built in a manner that allows plenty of natural light, ventilation and promote healthy living inside the house”. The Governor also suggested developers consider the idea of implementing the idea of an exclusive book/study room in their future designs with necessary facilities to deal with lockdown scenarios as witnessed in 2021 & 2020. Although the state of Telangana is one of the newest states in India, the development in the state is faster than rate of development in older & larger states and the rate of expansion will aid the pace of development – added the Governor.

CREDAI Telangana State President V. Murali Krishna Reddy and other senior members of the association were present at the occasion. The Governor thanked CREDAI Telangana for its contribution and role in the development of infrastructure in Telangana, she also appreciated the efforts displayed by CREDAI Telangana to help the ones in need during tough phases like the lockdown periods and hoped they would continue their philanthropic activities & services.
